Laura Jeannerette, MS

Laura is the Senior Advisor for all medical students, from pre-matriculation through graduation, within PittMed. Her duties include academic counseling for MS 1-4 and preparation for the US Medical Licensing (USMLE) Step 1 and Step 2 CK/CS Examinations. She assists students in identifying academic barriers and employing strategies to maximize learning and performance.

During clerkship rotations, Laura assists with preparation for shelf exams and addresses any issues which arise throughout the educational process via referral to outside resources. She oversees the peer-tutoring program for MS-1 & 2, coordinates the Student Academic Resource Consortium (SARC) manual, and maintains the OMED Resource Library.  

Before coming to OMED, Laura worked for a number of years in Higher Education, both as a resource coordinator and disability support specialist and within the fields of Counseling and Cognitive Rehabilitation for persons with disabilities, particularly in brain injury remediation and vocational/educational reentry.  She is a graduate of Rutgers University and West Virginia University and has BAs in English and Sociology, Certification in Criminology, and an MS in Rehabilitation Counseling.
