  • Does the video need to be a zoom recording?
    • No, we just said Zoom recording because that is something that is commonly used and people are likely to have.
    • If you want to record a video on your phone, computer or tablet, that would be fine.
    • The key thing is that you upload it to the web (please use Vimeo or YouTube) and give us a link so that we can download it and our reviewers can watch it.
  • Are there resources for candidates?

    • Brief Zoom instructions:
      1. Open Zoom
      2. Start a meeting (with just you in it)
      3. Open the PowerPoint you are going to use (if you want to use one)
      4. Click on the record button
        • You will be asked whether you want to save it locally or to the cloud
          • Pick local
          • This will save the recording on your computer
      5. Give your presentation
      6. When you are done, stop the recording
      7. Iterate steps 4-6 as many times as you like
      8. Each 'start' recording -> 'stop' recording will lead to a separate video
      9. When you close the zoom session, it will write the files to your computer and tell you where they are.
    • If you want to edit your video, we suggest looking at software on your computer where you can open it, add a title, and cut it down to size. Alternatively there are free video editing softwares available. Dr. Maier uses openshot: https://www.openshot.org/.
  • Will the viewing stats on my posted video be part of the review/ selection process?
    • No, in fact most folks will post their videos to be accessible only to people who have the link
    • This is not a social media contest, rather we are using the online platforms as a way to easily transmit and share the video.
