Course Description
The contribution of endocrine systems to hormonal regulation of growth and development, reproduction, metabolism, and homeostasis is the focus of this course. It also examines common clinical presentation and treatment of endocrine disease.
Course Learning Objectives
- Describe the normal structure, function, and organization of the major endocrine systems.
- Relate the regulation of hormonal secretion from the major endocrine glands.
- Describe etiology, pathophysiology and pathology of major endocrine disorders using clinical data and case studies.
- Integrate issues related to social determinants of health to the management of patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders.
- Evaluate diagnostic approaches and treatment plans in terms of prognosis for major endocrine disorders.

Assessment
Assessment for this course is based on a cumulative, graded Summative exam.
