Jason Rosenstock, MD

Jason Rosenstock, MD, is a professor of psychiatry in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He earned an undergraduate degree in history from Brown University, where he also received his MD. In 1992, Dr. Rosenstock came to Pittsburgh for a residency in general psychiatry at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic (WPIC).

Since joining the faculty in 1996, his work has focused on schizophrenia: providing direct clinical care for patients; teaching students, trainees, and health professionals about the illness and its management; and helping to develop and administer services on behalf of patients and families affected by this illness. 

Since 2005, Dr. Rosenstock has served as director of medical student education for the Department of Psychiatry and was among the inaugural inductees of the School of Medicine’s Academy of Master Educators. He has won numerous awards for teaching and humanism, and he has been involved in international collaborations around medical education. Since 2011, he has served as the Chair of the school’s Curriculum Committee.
