Course Description

The contribution of endocrine systems to hormonal regulation of growth and development, reproduction, metabolism, and homeostasis is the focus of this course. It also examines common clinical presentation and treatment of endocrine disease.

Course Objectives​

  1. To describe the normal structure, function, and organization of the major endocrine systems.
  2. To relate the regulation of hormonal secretion from the major endocrine glands.
  3. To state the etiology, pathophysiology, pathology, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of the clinically important disorders of the major endocrine systems of the body.
  4. To integrate issues relating to social determinants of health to the management of patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders

Evaluation

Evaluation for this course is based on a cumulative, graded Summative exam.
