Course Description
The goal of this course is for students to learn the characteristics and pathophysiology of common diseases of the skin. Building upon basic concepts and mechanisms that were introduced in prior courses, students will learn about common and clinically significant dermatological conditions.
By the end of this course, students will be able to: Explain the etiology and pathogenesis of common dermatologic conditions; Demonstrate a systematic approach to describing the appearance of skin conditions and the differential diagnosis; and Review clinical cases with history and physical examinations and use clinical reasoning to determine appropriate diagnostic tests, diagnosis, and treatment plans.
Course Objectives
For students to learn the characteristics and pathophysiology of common diseases of the skin. The course is intended as a basic introduction in which selected conditions are presented as models, and where students may learn both the details of the specific conditions and also become familiar with clinical treatments and management

Evaluation
Evaluation for this course is based on one examination.
Grading is Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory. The cutoff score for passing the final exam is 70%.
